Md. Safiqul Islam is working as an Associate Professor (now in Study Leave) in the Department of Political Science, University of Chittagong, Chittagong, Bangladesh. Mr. Islam received Master of Science degree in Development Studies at Lund University, Sweden. Currently, he is doing his Ph.D in Global Studies, School of Liberal Arts, Shanghai University, Shanghai, China. He has published a book chapter and a number of articles in local and international journals. He has also presented several papers in international conference and seminars held in Bangladesh, Denmark, Sweden and China. His research areas are China-South Asia Relations, Chinese and Indian Strategies in the Indian Ocean, and Connectivity and BCIM Economic Corridor. E-mail: safiqcu@ shu.edu.cn
