Dena Freeman
Dena Freeman,上海大学全球学专业特聘教授,曾于伦敦经济学院(LSE)、伦敦大学学院(UCL)和剑桥大学等世界知名高校任教,工作重点为全球化进程与发展及世界秩序。作为一名训练有素的人类学家,曾在各种背景下(包括在联合国,在埃塞俄比亚的乡村和在一个关于国际救济和发展的非政府组织)开展民族志田野调查。目前的研究兴趣为探索过去和现在的反霸权概念化的替代性全球秩序。曾在《全球社会》、《全球政策》和《实践中的发展》等顶尖国际期刊上发表几十篇学术论文,共出版过5本学术专著,最新著作为《全球化能成功吗?》(Thames & Hudson, 2020) 。
Professor Dena Freeman is Distinguished Professor of Global Studies at Shanghai University. Prior to coming to Shanghai she taught at the London School of Economics, University College London and Cambridge University, among others. Her work focusses on globalization, development and world order. An anthropologist by training, she has carried out ethnographic fieldwork in a wide variety of settings including in a village in rural Ethiopia, inside an international relief and development NGO, and at the United Nations. Her current research interest explores past and present counter-hegemonic conceptualisations of alternative global orders. She is the author or editor of five books, most recently Can Globalization Succeed? (Thames & Hudson, 2020), and dozens of scholarly articles in leading journals such as Global Society, Global Policy, and Development in Practice.
